As part of its commitment to supporting the vulnerable in society and in line with Mohinani’s Food Program (MFP), aimed at helping to end hunger, KFC Ghana launched the #kfclunchwithschools initiative online to provide free meals to basic schools.
The campaign was launched with a call to the KFC online community to nominate a basic school in their community that deserved this KFC food intervention, following the reintroduction of KFC’s famous Streetwise meal bundle in May.
After an overwhelming response from netizines, the free meal distribution kicked in at the St. Brown Royal School in Ashaiman, where five hundred packs of KFC wing meals were distributed to the pupils, staff, and management to their delight.
The KFC meal distribution van made its way to the Lizbern Educational Complex in Koforidua later in June, after they were selected by the KFC online community in a similar fashion.
According to authorities at Masco Foods, there are considerations to sustain this initiative over a period of time with the selection of at least one school every month, affirming their pledge to continue doing their best to help eradicate hunger and food insecurity in Ghana
